Performance poet Dr. Hedwig Gorski reads at WordSpace..WordSpace and Paperbacks Plus are proud to present Dr. Hedwig Gorski and Tammy Gomez on Saturday, February 7 at 8 pm. The location of the reading/performance is

The event is free to the public. Hedwig Gorski%u2019s new CD title Send in the Clown, a re-issue of performance poetry from her live radio broadcasts on KUT-FM Radio in Austin will be available for sale at the event. Gorski%u2019s art memoir of a 1978 performance poetry drama, a book titled Intoxication: Heathcliff on Powell Street published by Slough Press in Texas, will also be available for sale. She will present work from both the book and CD. The CD re-issue is funded by the Louisiana Division of the Arts and distribution funded by the Louisiana Cultural Tourism Office.
Dr. Hedwig Gorski is a Polish American gypsy-artist-poet. She coined the term "Performance Poetry" while living in Austin. She is the recipient of many awards including a Fulbright, works with composer husband D%u2019Jalma Garnier and teaches writing at ULL.
Tammy Gomez is a poet, playwright, author, recipient of many prestigious awards, grants and the creator of numerous performance and poetry events. She was voted by the Austin Chronicle as the "Poet Most Likely To Incite A Riot." Tammy is an original and powerful artistic presence, always evolving and re-inventing her performance formats.

Robert Trammell (1939-2006) WordSpace founder, is a beloved Texas poet whose ancestors helped establish the earliest frontier settlements in East Texas, Robert was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and Southern Methodist University. He was founder and executive director of the Dallas literary organization WordSpace, and was a Fellow of the Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture.
